Job Overview:

The Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development Center is seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher to support the delivery of high-quality early education and child development services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting children's school readiness through growth and development across all developmental domains.

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our center. You will be responsible for implementing a well-organized learning environment that provides adequate opportunities for choice, play, exploration, and experimentation among a variety of learning, sensory, and motor experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that include indoor and outdoor learning experiences to support physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, language development and communication, and cognitive development.
  • Nurture, responsive, and effective teaching practices to ensure daily learning experiences promote critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, STEM, and reading and writing readiness.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families, while maintaining professional boundaries, to encourage their input and support two-way communication regarding the growth and development of their children.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a study plan toward a degree in Early Childhood Education or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education with NY State Certification.
  • Minimum of two years-experience working with preschoolers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communications skills.

Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000 per annum
