Job Description:

As a Medication Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. Your primary responsibility will be to administer medications and monitor patients for any adverse reactions. You will work closely with the Charge RN and the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients for any side effects
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on medication management and treatment plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify potential medication-related issues
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent medication errors and adverse reactions

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
  • Current Colorado Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license (or compact license)
  • One year of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and reach while working with patients
  • Ability to perform CPR and first aid
  • Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and be flexible with hours
