Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Expeditor to join our team. This vital role ensures the smooth and timely flow of materials and components through our production processes to meet customer delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide updates and reports on material shortages, part replacements, backorders, and other material issues that could impact weekly customer deliveries
  • Execute material planning activities for specified purchased components and materials, managing optimal material inventory levels, and reducing material shortages
  • Expedite make items in commodity areas to support program weekly customer deliveries
  • Perform floor counts and reconciliation of inventory
  • Collaborate with stockroom partners to prioritize kits needed on the production floor for weekly deliveries
  • Create rework work orders as needed
  • Facilitate material transfers between projects to optimize resources
  • Develop and maintain production schedules and material plans to ensure alignment with production goals
  • Analyze production data and adjust plans to accommodate changes in demand or production capacity
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to align material delivery schedules with production needs
  • Monitor and report on production progress, identifying and addressing potential delays or bottlenecks

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production control, inventory control, or stockroom role
  • Proficient in working with ERP systems
  • Strong prioritization, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the organization
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to lift and move material which may weigh up to 30 lbs
  • Experience in production planning and scheduling is highly desirable
