Position: Fire Alarm Installation Technician

The primary responsibility of this position is to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and program a variety of alarm systems. Our objective is to enhance the revenue of the Alarm & Detection division while ensuring profitability, meeting customer expectations, and adhering to necessary regulations and standards. This role collaborates closely with Project Managers and the Operations Manager.

This position demands a proactive approach in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment, emphasizing customer engagement, quality workmanship, and a solid understanding of different alarm systems. Travel to client locations is required, and occasional overnight stays may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and program Fire Alarm, Access Control, Nurse Call, Intrusion, Sound, CCTV, and IP Video Systems.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including Work Tickets and Inspection Reports, for service calls and inspections.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Provide comprehensive oral and written feedback to management regarding customer concerns.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with team members and clients.
  • Participate in the department's on-call rotation and be flexible with working hours as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on low voltage systems.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Fire Alarm or Security industry is essential.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; vocational training or industry-specific education is advantageous.
  • Strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new systems and processes are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • NICET fire alarm certification is preferred or the candidate must be willing to obtain it.
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel) is required.
