What will your responsibilities include?
- Deliver age-appropriate and developmentally suitable programming and activities in accordance with established standards.
- Support children through intentional programming aimed at fostering achievement, belonging, and nurturing relationships among youth and families.
- Oversee children, the classroom, or designated area, ensuring all activities are conducted safely, including necessary accommodations.
- Utilize positive reinforcement strategies to address behavioral challenges among children.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the program site and its equipment.
- Keep accurate records as required by the program.
- Participate in scheduled staff meetings, training sessions, and complete all assigned online training modules.
- Engage in family nights and other program-related activities.
What are the essential requirements?
- Must be at least 16 years old or a high school graduate, or currently enrolled in an accredited vocational program.
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of child care and day camp practices is necessary.
- Demonstrated initiative in planning, leading, and participating in activities.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting procedures is essential.
- Certifications (must be maintained and current at all times):
- CPR & First Aid certifications from recognized organizations.
- Preventative Health training from an approved provider.
- Completion of Mandated Reporter training as part of the hiring process.
- Pest Management training through an authorized agency.
- Health Screening and TB clearance are required.
- Must have up-to-date vaccinations for TDAP, MMR, and Influenza.
- Criminal background check will be conducted during the hiring process.
- Ability to plan, lead, and engage in a variety of activities in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- This role may require extended periods of standing or sitting, wading in water to supervise children, walking at least 1⁄2 mile continuously, and spending full workdays outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
