About the Job

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties. The role utilizes scientific principles, technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory-related continuing education.

Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited two-year college program or technical school is required.
  • Six months to one year of related experience or training preferred.
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician from the ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required within 12 months of hire.
Work Schedule
  • Varied Shift Schedule: 8 am - 6pm, 7:30 am - 4pm, Noon to 8pm or 2:30 pm to 11pm; May fill in on overnight shift from 7pm to 7am as needed.
  • Rotate every 3rd weekend/holiday.
  • Full Time; 72 hours every 2 weeks.
Salary and Benefits

The hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $31.75 per hour. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. Avera St. Luke's Hospital also offers a competitive benefits package, including paid time off, health insurance, and opportunities for career growth.
