Job Summary

The GIS Technician provides critical support for enterprise-level GIS maintenance, map production, and user training/troubleshooting. This role is responsible for integrating spatial and tabular data, updating existing data sets, and creating maps for presentation and publication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and integrate spatial and tabular data from various sources, including county departments and government units.
  • Update existing data sets to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Design and produce maps for presentation and publication using thematic mapping techniques.
  • Configure commercial GIS software and develop customized GIS applications to facilitate end-user interaction.
  • Provide training and guidance to engineers, technicians, and staff on advanced GIS principles and practices.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a closely related field.
  • Valid Class D Driver's License or evidence of mobility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS or a related field.
  • One year of GIS work experience.
