We are seeking a dedicated and caring Toddler Teacher to join our team at New River YMCA. As a Toddler Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and engaging learning environment for children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Plan and implement educational activities and lesson plans tailored to the age and abilities of the children.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to promote learning and creativity, including storytelling, songs, and arts and crafts.
- Encourage socialization and teamwork among children, promoting positive relationships and communication skills.
- Monitor and assess the children's progress, identifying areas for improvement and providing support as needed.
- Administer first aid and emergency care as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment, fostering trust and respect among children and parents.
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or childcare setting.
- Special education training or experience working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of childhood development and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of children of different ages and abilities.
- Experience with behavior management techniques and the ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Experience with infant care and the ability to provide a nurturing and safe environment for young children.
- First aid certification and the ability to administer emergency care as necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
