Position Title: Practical Nursing Specialist

Company Overview: Cedar Wellness Center is a Tribally owned healthcare facility dedicated to serving a diverse range of patients, including both Native and Non-Native individuals. Our mission is to provide comprehensive care while addressing patient needs related to substance use disorders, primary healthcare, infectious diseases, and mental health. We are in the process of assembling a team of compassionate and committed professionals.

Role Summary:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist at Cedar Wellness Center, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience. Nurses are often the primary source of empathy and support for patients during both routine care and critical moments. Our approach is centered around empathy, connection, and respect, which are integral to our patient care philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a qualified professional nurse and the Clinic Medical Director to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to provide holistic care to our patients.
  • Engage in case conferences, sharing insights and knowledge with team members.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including individual charts and medication logs.
  • Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Facilitate referrals for specialized care and follow up on patient progress.
  • Assist in training staff on medical protocols and patient care practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited LVN/LPN program.
  • Current LVN/LPN license in good standing.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Preferred Skills:
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience in a substance use disorder treatment setting is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include the ability to stand, walk, and perform various tasks that may require lifting up to 25 pounds. Employees must possess the ability to communicate effectively and discern verbal instructions.
