We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Research Scientist to join our team at Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC). The successful candidate will conduct research on immunology studies related to AIDS and candidate AIDS vaccines under GLP-compliant conditions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cellular immunology and flow cytometry techniques, with experience in ELISPOT assays, cytotoxicity assays, ELISA, and flow cytometry assays. They will also be proficient in complex laboratory techniques and have excellent record-keeping skills.
The Medical Research Scientist will work independently under minimal supervision, conducting research analysis and preparing reports, managing daily operational functions of the laboratory, maintaining experimental records, and contributing to publication research and development activities.
The successful candidate will also instruct other staff and students in basic laboratory techniques and monitor work performance of lab assistants and student researchers.
- Strong background in cellular immunology and flow cytometry techniques
- Experience in ELISPOT assays, cytotoxicity assays, ELISA, and flow cytometry assays
- Excellent record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with others
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines
- Working knowledge of various software programs for both PC and Mac systems
- Proficient skills in the use of typical biomedical/microbiological laboratory equipment
- Ability to work as part of a team on project(s) related to biomedical research
- B.S. in Biology or related field
- ≥ 3 years laboratory experience
