Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Radar/Signal Processing Engineer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented engineer with a strong background in radar and signal processing to work on a diverse range of projects, including the modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of aerospace weapons, sensors, and related command-and-control entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement firmware and software for RF software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators.
  • Work with a highly technical team of engineers to develop and integrate radar and signal processing systems.
  • Collaborate with the Scientific and Technical Intelligence community (NASIC, NSIC, MSIC, NGIC, ONI) and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Sensors Directorate to support their technical needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and contribute to the development of new technologies and systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other closely related field from an accredited institute.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of radar, digital signal processing (DSP), and/or RF communication theory with technical work experience supporting radar, electronic warfare (EW), and/or DSP projects.
  • C/C++ coding experience/abilities with understanding of object-oriented software principles.
  • Technical leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of ELINT and/or SIGINT.
  • Experience with RFSoC / VHDL / FPGA design practices and tools.
