Qualifications

  1. Completion of high school or equivalent education; and
  2. 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in a machine shop environment; or a combination of education and experience that meets the requirements.

Required Skills

  1. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  2. Proficiency in using basic measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  3. Knowledge of programming is advantageous but not mandatory.
  4. Capable of following both verbal and written instructions in English.

Key Responsibilities

The CNC Vertical Milling Specialist is essential to the manufacturing process, primarily responsible for producing components that adhere to specified requirements, ultimately supporting the assembly of aerospace latches.

Core Duties

  1. Set up and operate vertical milling machines with 3 to 4 axes in a production setting, ensuring parts are produced according to specifications outlined in blueprints and work orders.
  2. Review the daily production schedule to determine tasks for the day.
  3. Perform maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of production machinery.
  4. Initiate setups and adjust tooling based on CNC programming to meet required specifications.
  5. Load components for machining and conduct regular quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  6. Inspect own work to verify that parts meet the necessary standards as per blueprints and dimensional data.
  7. Work effectively with minimal supervision.
