Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed accounting tasks related to project contracts and billing exceptions for complex projects.

  • Generate comprehensive financial reports, ensuring accuracy in data presentation and analysis.
  • Monitor revenue and unbilled balances to guarantee appropriate revenue recognition.
  • Authorize access to project accounts and manage expense transfers in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for generating precise financial records using accounting software.
  • Apply accounting expertise to analyze project resources and variances, providing variance reports to management.
  • Review contract and change order details for complex projects, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Identify and manage issues in project financials, keeping project managers informed of any concerns.
  • Ensure accuracy in draft invoices, coordinating with project managers for final approvals.
  • Manage subcontractor invoicing and payment requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Follow up on unpaid billings and delinquent accounts receivable.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding project expenses and billing.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss financial status and address any issues.
  • Prepare government reports related to project activities.
  • Assist with audits by compiling necessary information and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with finance teams to execute project-related tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain data integrity.
  • Engage with clients and subcontractors professionally and confidently.
  • Mentor junior accountants and interns, providing guidance on project budgets and billing.
  • Stay updated on project accounting principles and practices.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.
Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in accounting and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret contract stipulations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong self-leadership and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative approach to working with clients and subcontractors.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
