Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing various structures and fixtures in our community.

• Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment in accordance with building and safety code regulations.
• Build, repair, and install counter, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, windows, doors, building framework, and trim.
• Safely operate electrical/power/manual tools and equipment, including generators and compressors.
• Load and unload equipment and materials at job sites; drive to and from job sites.
• Measure, cut, lift, and fasten lumber, drywall, roofing, insulation, doors, windows, cabinets, and trim.
• Assist in inspecting new woodwork installations for conformity to building and safety codes.
• Assist in preparing material inventory lists for housing and construction.
• Assist in the verification of trueness of structures with plumb bob and carpenters' level.
• Read and follow sketches, diagrams, or blueprints showing location of carpentry fixtures or equipment.
• Assist in coordinating carpentry work with other construction trades.

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Two years' post-apprenticeship carpentry experience.
• Must provide own tool belt, bags, and standard carpenter's hand tools.
• Must have reliable transportation, clean driving record.
