Position Overview
Advanced Network Solutions (ANS) is seeking a Program Manager to spearhead internal development, capital, and contractual initiatives across a range of cutting-edge technologies, including 5G, free space optics, software-defined networking, and tactical communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume overall accountability for program execution, encompassing leadership, scheduling, financial oversight, and risk management while maintaining communication with program stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business area management to evaluate market opportunities and product offerings, ensuring alignment with program management perspectives on execution capabilities.
  • Guide critical go/no-go decisions regarding new projects and products.
  • Exhibit a proactive and adaptable project-focused approach, balancing delegation to engineering PMs with detailed involvement in areas needing support.
  • Enhance the performance measurement and improvement of customer experiences within the Viasat Government Segment.
  • Act as the primary liaison to customers, representing the entire program team and Viasat.
  • Foster collaboration with team members across the organization to align with business objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes for equipment and services related to communication and networking initiatives.
  • Analyze program data and metrics to identify trends, optimize performance, and guide future decisions.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences, building connections and staying informed on current trends.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consultative leadership style, relying on personal competence for persuasion and consensus-building.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in project or program management, demonstrating a successful track record in leading complex technical projects.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in developing network technologies and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage co-located teams across diverse geographical locations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading proposal efforts and engaging in business development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Profit/Loss concepts and experience with various contract types and risk management practices.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required; US Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Possession of a US DoD Secret Clearance is essential.

Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Software).
  • Master of Business Administration.
  • Passion for proposal and white paper writing.
  • Experience with government systems and service acquisition.
  • Familiarity with the Earned Value Management System.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Active US DoD Secret Clearance.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $129,000 to $224,300 annually. At Viasat, we consider various factors when determining compensation, including the scope of the role and the candidate's background and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be part of the compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits tailored to the position offered.
