COMPENSATION RANGE:

$72.88 Per Hour

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of Caterpillar and other affiliated machinery, systems, and components in the field. Prepare equipment for handover. Diagnose and troubleshoot machine and engine system failures. Work in various weather conditions as necessary. Accept assignments that may require travel and overnight stays. Effectively communicate with team members, clients, and management regarding equipment status, issues, and recommendations. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy construction or mining machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Foster positive client relationships and support corporate marketing initiatives.
  • Repair, refurbish, and maintain machinery and components.
  • Document service reports.
  • Manage and control repair job costs.
  • Maintain company tools and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Adhere to safety protocols at all times, complying with all company policies and standards.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Own and maintain necessary personal tools.
  • Learn and apply Empire, Caterpillar, and allied product procedures.
  • Maintain current MSHA certification if required for the work area.
  • Provide training to junior technicians and assistants as needed.
  • Make warranty recommendations as appropriate.
  • Communicate with relevant personnel to clarify instructions or discuss job scope and progress.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Travel to remote job sites as necessary.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Uphold and promote corporate values.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms regarding equipment conditions, issues, and repair processes.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and computerized systems.
  • Professional demeanor and adherence to company grooming standards.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CDL if required by law.
  • Familiarity with CAT machinery components and systems.
  • Must maintain acceptable attendance to meet company standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Required DOT licensing, medical card, and endorsements as applicable.
  • Minimum of 6 months relevant experience.
  • Completion of TRAIN test evaluation.
  • Proficiency in English (speak, read, comprehend, write).
