Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting patient assessments and developing tailored care plans.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.
  • Adjusting care plans based on patient responses and outcomes.
  • Administering medications and performing treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Delegating tasks to non-licensed staff in line with professional standards.
  • Providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care.
  • Educating patients and families on treatment plans and care options.
  • Facilitating discharge planning in partnership with the care team.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Education: Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure and Certifications: Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; NIHSS certification is mandatory; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
