Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical team at St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the assessment of patients and ensure their well-being, working closely with registered nurses and physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of care.
  • Educate patients and their families about disease treatment plans, including self-care and follow-up care, promoting holistic health and wellness.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a constant state of alertness and safe manner, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Perform point-of-care testing as needed, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions of care, promoting continuity and quality.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensure.
  • No prior experience required, but a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with the ability to obtain and maintain licensure in the state of Illinois or other applicable states.
