Manufacturing Supervisor II

Atkore is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor II to lead our 3rd shift team at our New Bedford, MA facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and leading machine operating staff, with a focus on teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety, quality, delivery, and productivity performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management within your team, utilizing Lean tools for improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Drive Atkore's Lean Excellence strategy, operational leadership, and successful safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements, and control and optimization of labor, materials, and machine utilization to achieve production goals.
  • Develop and coach team members to identify problems, perform root cause analyses, and implement countermeasures and solutions.
  • Implement cross-training activities to ensure proper function of work cells and maximize team potential.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or equivalent.
  • Five to ten years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Wire & Cable manufacturing experience, especially with plastics extrusion, cabling, and armoring.
  • Lean manufacturing background and passion to grow lean experience.
  • Proven track record of Lean accomplishments, cost out, and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to mentor and coach other supervisors and off-shift team leaders.
