Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at NavitsPartners. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for conducting MRI imaging procedures, operating and preparing specialized equipment, and ensuring diagnostic quality images.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct MRI Imaging Procedures: Perform clinical, technical, and administrative tasks related to MRI imaging, including conducting procedures, operating equipment, and preparing patients for imaging.
  2. Operate and Maintain Equipment: Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of MRI equipment, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  3. Prepare Patients for Imaging: Assist patients in preparing for MRI procedures, including positioning and educating them on the process.
  4. Ensure Diagnostic Quality Images: Apply technical judgment to ensure diagnostic quality images based on protocols and patient needs.
  5. Communicate with Patients and Staff: Educate patients about MRI procedures, review patient safety questionnaires, and follow MRI safety protocols.
  6. Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure patient clearance before transitioning from MRI safety zones, and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  7. Assist with Contrast Media Administration: Assist with administering contrast media and operating power injectors using aseptic technique.
  8. Position Patients and MRI Coils: Position patients and MRI coils for optimal study results.
  9. Scan and Upload Patient-Related Documents: Scan and upload patient-related documents, and accurately label all images following department SOP.
  10. Assist Physicians During Procedures: Assist physicians as needed during procedures, and evaluate radiographs for quality and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
  11. Maintain a Clean and Organized Environment: Maintain cleanliness of the radiology room and equipment, including soiled linen removal, and ensure the imaging room is stocked with necessary supplies and accessories.
  12. Accurately Record Patient Tracking Data: Accurately record patient tracking data into the Radiology Information System (IDX), and schedule MRI exams as required.
  13. Ensure Studies are Completed and Updated: Ensure all studies are completed and updated in the Radiology Information System promptly, and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.
  14. Adhere to Infection Control Protocols: Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent infection spread, and attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.
  15. Maintain Required Licensure and Certification: Maintain required licensure, including compliance with Article 35 of the Public Health Code, and certification requirements, including MRI certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and BLS certification.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensure: New York State License (L.R.T.) and NY State IV Certification.
  • Certification: MRI certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and BLS certification.
  • Language: English (Speak, Read, Write).
  • Hours: 11.50 hours per week, 11.50 hours per day, 1.00 days per week.
  • Schedule: Sundays 8 AM - 8 PM.
