Key Responsibilities- Quality Management: Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Regulatory Affairs: Manage all aspects of regulatory compliance, including CAP, CLIA, and New York State Department of Health requirements.
- Quality Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all departments using innovative techniques like Lean and Six Sigma.
- Document Control: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of laboratory documents, including SOPs and policies.
- Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Non-Conforming Events: Manage non-conforming events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with laboratory staff, leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure effective quality management and regulatory compliance.
- Education: B.S. in a science-related field (required); Certification as MT, CLS, CT, HT, or HLT (ASCP) is desirable; MHA/MBA (preferred).
- Experience: 7+ years of laboratory management and quality management experience required. Previous clinical or anatomic pathology bench experience required. Experience with NYSDOH, CLIA, and CAP required. Experience with state licensure preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. The ability to coordinate multiple resources effectively. Accountable and self-directed. Takes initiative and works independently and within a team. Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Licenses/Certifications: ASQ Lean Six Sigma & ASCP generalist certification preferred. Auditor training preferred.
