The Food Service Associate is a key member of the Jernigan Oil Co team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our food service department.

Responsibilities:

  • Forecast, order, stock, and merchandise products to meet customer demand
  • Stock refrigerator units with drinks and perishable goods, ensuring optimal inventory levels
  • Ensure prompt reconciliation of store operations paperwork, maintaining accurate records
  • Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized, adhering to company standards
  • Clean front/face and restock shelving, displays, and coolers as needed, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment
  • Assist the Deli Manager with deli operations, including cooking food to meet company standards
  • Follow instructions from the Deli Manager and Store Manager, ensuring seamless communication
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service, greeting and thanking customers in a timely and professional manner
  • Suggest possible purchases to customers and promote deli specials, driving sales and customer engagement
  • Dress in a manner consistent with company policies, maintaining a professional image

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate necessary machines within the store
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, including flexible scheduling
  • Previous deli experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work well with others, maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment
  • Ability to keep up with food waste, minimizing losses and ensuring efficient operations
