Product Designer

We're seeking a skilled Product Designer to join our Product Design team at KiwiCo. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for conceptualizing and developing engaging experiences for kids and families. Your expertise in industrial design will be instrumental in creating products that capture the imaginations of kids and their adults at a glance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead your own projects from conception to finished product, including brainstorming, prototyping, pitching, refining, testing, and preparing product specs and sampling.
- Collaborate with the Product Design team to ensure seamless execution of projects.
- Develop compelling products and experiences for kids and families, leveraging new play patterns, materials, and price points to appeal to a large audience.
- Apply brand and visual design guidelines to products, ensuring they meet the high standards of KiwiCo.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing physical products, with a strong understanding of the product development process.
- Experience with user testing and insights, with a passion for channeling the voices of kids and identifying ways products can change to better meet their needs.
- Strong prototyping skills, with proficiency in a range of making tools, including laser cutting, 3D printing, and hand building.
- Strong visualization skills, with the ability to communicate new product ideas through compelling sketches and renders.
- Time management skills and ability to multitask, with a focus on prioritizing, organizing, and proactively bringing creative leadership across multiple projects.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as Solidworks or Fusion360.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite.
- Bachelor or Masters degree in a relevant field, such as Industrial Design or Product Design.

Our office is located in Mountain View, within walking distance to the Caltrain station. We work a hybrid schedule of Tuesday and Wednesday in-office and remote work the rest of the week. We're passionate about kids, creativity, and play, and we love design that sparks curiosity and engagement.
