Journeyman Electrician

Join ADM, a leading manufacturer of food and feed ingredients, in Velva, ND, as a Journeyman Electrician. This full-time, non-exempt position is based at our facility located at 1388 Highway 97.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical systems and process control devices.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose and propose repair solutions for electrical power, electrical control, and process control equipment.
  • Assist in the planning, budgeting, and implementation of electrically related facility projects.
  • Operate hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Maintain and order spare parts as needed.
  • Perform PM during plant outages or as required.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Current ND Journeyman Electrician License is required and must be maintained.
  • Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a world-class safety culture; understand and follow company safety procedures.
  • Develop and maintain proper use, care, and safety skills of all hand, power, welding, and any other tools necessary for use in the course of this job.
  • Exhibit consistent and prompt attendance.
  • Candidates are required to successfully complete a maintenance test consisting of technical aptitude, ability, and work habits.
  • Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.), lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, wearing a respirator.
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays, on-call and overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in a team setting when needed.
  • Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of process sensors/transmitters.
  • Basic Knowledge of electrical safety devices (breakers, fuses, etc.).
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical work practices and guidelines to include those outlined by the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Willing and able to take formal trade school courses as selected by ADM management and take such courses on a continuing basis.
