Mental Health Therapist

Bay Mills Indian Community is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our Behavioral Health Program. As a key member of our team, you will provide outpatient therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups, promoting healthier functioning and improving relationships within the community.

• Provide psychosocial assessments and treatment services to clients of all ages.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
• Collaborate with community agencies, schools, and Tribal Court to provide consultation and behavioral health promotion education.
• Respond to crisis situations, providing timely and effective interventions to ensure client safety.
• Document all services provided, maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and community groups, addressing behavioral health issues and promoting cultural competence.

• Masters, Specialist, or Doctoral Degree in Psychology or Social Work, with a clinical background and full licensure preferred.
• State of Michigan licensure as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Limited License, or eligibility to obtain licensure within six months.
• At least three years of experience in providing clinical/mental health therapy, with a focus on trauma, sexual abuse, and intergenerational issues.
• Knowledge of the State of Michigan Mental Health Code, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and psychosocial assessment/treatment components.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including Native American communities, and to navigate complex systems and networks.
