Campus Security Role:

We are seeking a Part-Time Safety and Security Officer to join our team at Ozarks Technical Community College. This role involves performing security, loss prevention, parking and traffic control duties within assigned areas of the campus or center. The officer must be able to work independently and as part of a team, responding to emergency situations and providing CPR/AED and First Aid when needed.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond to dispatched calls for service and assist in responding to security, fire, medical and weather-related emergencies or natural disasters.
  • Perform self-initiated activities such as crime prevention, traffic control, and parking enforcement.
  • Provide assistance as requested within the capability of the department to provide, such as battery jump starts for dead car batteries, use of telephone, and assisting emergency personnel responding to emergencies on campus.
  • Patrol campus property to maintain a safe and secure campus environment.

Essential Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of employment as a Safety and Security Officer at an accredited institution of higher learning; or three years of employment as a Law Enforcement Officer or Fire Marshal with a public agency; or three years of military service as a Military Law Enforcement Officer with an honorable discharge.
