We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Cyfle, a global business dedicated to connecting talents worldwide.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimating for commercial retail, industrial, and hotel projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Obtaining, distributing, and managing plans or specifications as directed by supervisor for proposed projects.
- Accurately preparing detailed cost estimates of all aspects of a proposed project, including quantity take off, detailed cost estimate, line item, and subcontractor summary by division.
- Working with various departments to establish scope of work.
- Expediting timely, accurate project cost budgets utilizing historical data, unit pricing, subcontractor/vendor proposals, and methods as discussed with management.
- Reviewing summarized budgets with supervisor.
- Maintaining all unit prices and keeping current in estimating programs and templates.
- Adjusting unit prices in the system as the market adjusts prices.
- Verifying existing conditions of vacancies and incorporating found conditions into budget and estimates.
Requirements for the Construction Estimator:
- Construction or other construction-related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience is preferred.
- 5 years of commercial estimating experience required, preferably with a general contractor or commercial developer.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Use of cost estimating software and development of detailed quantity take offs and application of historical cost data to prepare estimates.
- Analytical and problem-solving mentality.
- Team player, self-motivated, gets along well with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
- Capability to plan, prioritize, and multitask with meticulous attention to detail within time constraints.
- Strong and effective written and verbal skills.
