Job Title: Travel Nurse RN

We are seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will provide high-quality patient care in our Intermediate Level Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Job Summary:

This is a travel nurse position for a 12HR DAYS shift, working every other weekend. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience in MedSurg and 2 years of previous travel experience. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients with various neurological conditions, including stroke, neurosurgery, and epilepsy.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care in our Intermediate Level Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients with various neurological conditions
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, including EKG readings
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Document patient progress and communicate with the healthcare team
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience in MedSurg
  • 2 years of previous travel experience
  • BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications
  • EKG testing requirement
  • Med/Surg experience requirement
  • IV Start and Telemetry experience
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias experience
  • Med/Surg neuro experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACLS certification
  • Previous experience in a similar unit
Unit Details:

We have a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) that is considered Intermediate level and that nurse has 4:1. The unit has 42 daily census and 43 rooms/beds. We use PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems.

Shift and Schedule:

This is a 12HR DAYS shift, working every other weekend. The shift is RTO -7 DAYS MAX if RTO includes weekends, time will be added to end of contract to make up for those dates. The scheduling type is Preferred Scheduling.
