Senior Analyst for Universal Service Programs

As a Senior Analyst at UGI Utilities, Inc., you will be responsible for the development, analysis, and management of various Universal Service filings for both the UGI Gas Division and UGI Electric Division. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating the recovery of costs associated with Customer Assistance Programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage gas and electric Universal Service filings to meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct monthly management reporting detailing customer participation and expenditures for all Customer Assistance Programs (e.g., LIHEAP, LIURP, CAP, Op Share, ERAP).
- Oversee annual regulatory filings and proceedings, including Base Rate Cases and Universal Service filings.
- Represent UGI at industry meetings and collaborative events, such as Universal Service Advisory Committee meetings.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Utilize SAP and the Customer Outreach System (COS) to analyze quantitative data and key metrics for strategic planning and performance evaluation.
- Identify business challenges through data interpretation and recommend process improvements.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate results to management through standardized reporting.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work cross-functionally with the Accounting Department to analyze Universal Service Program expenses and ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with the Rates Department to complete Universal Service Program rate recovery filings.
- Manage oversight of contracts with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to ensure compliance with performance goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of the utility industry, ratemaking, and customer assistance programs.
- Proficient in preparing detailed workpapers and regulatory reports.
- Strong analytical skills to assess customer programs and expense data.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business/Economics is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulated utility environment is preferred.
