Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety protocols and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population
Requirements
  • Completion of a Radiologic Technology program in an AMA-approved school
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of employment
  • Current license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations. The incumbent will be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and may be at risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste.
