NextGen America is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Michigan Field Organizer - Voter Engagement Specialist. This role will be responsible for engaging young people in electoral politics by registering thousands of young people to vote across the state.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement voter registration strategies to engage young people in electoral politics
- Build relationships with local community and student groups to increase civic participation and voter registration
- Recruit and train a local volunteer team to organize their networks around voter registration drives and get out the vote efforts
- Plan and host events within the community, on campus, and virtually to promote voter registration and engagement
- Collaborate with college administrations to increase civic participation and voter registration within the campus community
- Meet with community leaders to discuss voter registration and engagement strategies
- Develop and maintain relationships with local elected officials and community leaders to promote voter registration and engagement
- Monitor and report on voter registration and engagement metrics to inform future strategies
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Previous electoral organizing experience is a plus
- Bilingual candidates are a plus
