Job Title: Construction Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team at the Virginia Department of General Services. As a key member of our Office of Construction Management for Special Projects I, you will be responsible for managing projects involving design, construction, renovations, and alterations to state facilities across the state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery process of assigned projects, including oversight of architects, engineers, construction managers, procurement, and administrative functions.
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including state agencies, contractors, and vendors, to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, Construction Professional Service Manual, and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Project management experience, preferably in construction and building systems.
  • Significant working knowledge and experience in construction and building systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working experience with Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.
  • Familiarity with Procurement policies of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Familiarity with Construction Professional Service Manual (CPSM) requirements.
  • Certified Construction Management Certification.
