Position Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Clinical Nursing Coordinator at Centers for Advanced Urology plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care by overseeing clinical operations. This position not only involves direct patient interaction but also emphasizes the importance of staff development and team collaboration. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care within our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing staffing levels effectively to optimize labor costs while maintaining open communication with leadership.
  • Contributing to the formulation of policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitoring clinical staff adherence to established protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting a culture of safety by staying informed about best practices and advocating for patient safety.
  • Participating in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff, ensuring they receive adequate training and education.
  • Coordinating the daily activities and assignments of clinical personnel, ensuring smooth operational flow.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and accuracy of patient clinical records.
  • Providing direct patient care as needed, including clinical assessments and follow-up procedures.
  • Performing additional duties as required to support the team and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Current RN license as mandated by state regulations.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are required; willingness to obtain ACLS certification if not currently certified.
  • CBUNA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in addressing inquiries and resolving issues from various stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on cross-cultural interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships among staff, patients, and families professionally.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, including electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Competence in clinical procedures such as medication administration and patient assessments.
  • Adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN is required.

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Preferred knowledge in urodynamics, biofeedback, infusion therapies, and operating room protocols.
  • Management experience is advantageous.
