Job Summary

The Transmission Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the day-to-day activities of employees and the project to which they are assigned, reporting directly to the Project Manager assigned to the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain, and execute the project plan to schedule and ensure compliance with budget.
  • Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.
  • Track and communicate weekly project reports and generate a 3-week look ahead.
  • Ensure project materials and workmanship meet the project quality standards and design requirements.
  • Initiate and conduct project meetings with staff assigned to the project and management if necessary.
  • Review and address plan details, resolve issues before they result in added budget expenditures.
  • Advise of any potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.
  • Enforce site-specific plans and procedures that are in line with Maslonka's culture and safety requirements.
  • Review and submit weekly time sheets to payroll for processing.
  • Maintain the project's daily job diary.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and internal operational systems.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
  • Ability to visualize the entire project and anticipate constructability issues and embed solutions in the construction plans and schedules.
  • Must be able to schedule, monitor, and forecast resources for optimum efficiency.
  • Ability to manage others and many facets of the construction project and assume responsibility.
  • Preferred qualifications include obtaining and maintaining a valid State Class A driver's license and/or holding and maintaining a valid commercial driver's license, OSHA 30 certification, and physical demands and work environment suitable for a field environment.
