Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Long-Term Care Facility. As a member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct resident care as assigned, conduct resident rounds daily, and perform nursing care as noted below:
  • Answer call lights within designated timeframe.
  • Give care to all residents assigned; make rounds on all residents; check soiled linens and side rails.
  • Change incontinent residents, wash and dry soiled residents.
  • Walk ambulatory residents; this includes taking them to the bathroom.
  • Give tub baths, showers, or bed baths to residents.
  • Complete oral hygiene and toileting.
  • Turn and reposition all bed and chair residents.
  • Place bedpans, linens, washbasins, and soiled linens in proper area.
  • Complete charting on residents.
  • Complete food percentage, intake and output, bowel, and bladder records.
  • Empty and record all urinary drainage units.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred, but not a requirement of the position.
  • This position requires a certificate as a Nurse Aide and/or Medical Technician in the State of Missouri and to be listed as a Nurse Aide and/or Medical Technician in the Missouri Department of Health and Environment Registry.

Shift Specific Duties

Day shift responsibilities include taking residents to the dining room and assisting with feeding, serving breakfast and lunch trays, and ensuring residents are offered nourishment. Evening shift responsibilities include preparing residents for bed, serving evening meal trays, and assisting with feeding.
