Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at La Crosse County, WI. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications and treatments, as prescribed by a registered nurse.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new personnel, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Evaluate resident needs and assist in the development and implementation of nursing care plans, tailored to meet their unique requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete nursing notes, documenting observations and resident conditions.
  • Work safely and follow established safety practices and standards, reporting any potential hazards or incidents.
  • Maintain residents' rights and confidentiality, reporting any suspected cases of resident abuse to the Administrator.
  • Determine and supervise work assignments for subordinate personnel, ensuring maximum utilization of Nursing Assistants.
  • Prepare daily shift reports and notify supervisors of any changes in resident status.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Preference for nursing experience in a long-term care facility.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and good driving record (for those who drive).
  • Must maintain a valid Wisconsin nursing license.
  • Must successfully pass a background check as required by the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
Benefits
  • Full-time benefits, including a 6.9% match on the Wisconsin Retirement System, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Part-time benefits, including limited benefits (no insurance unless 30 hours per week or more).
  • No benefits for less-than-half-time positions.
Working Conditions

This position involves potential and/or direct exposure to blood or body fluids. The employee is expected to report to work when scheduled, with minimum use of sick leave, to build up sick leave balance for income protection in case of unexpected illness.
