Position OverviewOur Hammonton Medical Services Administration team is seeking a PIP Claims Specialist. This role is ideal for individuals who are organized and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess PIP coverages, identify coverage issues, and investigate loss events, injuries, and relevant information to determine coverage and appropriate actions.
- Evaluate claims for potential fraud indicators and underwriting concerns, ensuring compliance with state and company regulations.
- Deliver final coverage determinations within regulatory frameworks while maintaining communication with all parties involved throughout the claims process.
- Document all actions taken during the claims process accurately and concisely.
- Manage requests for medical treatments, durable medical equipment, and other related inquiries, communicating decisions to relevant parties promptly.
- Request Independent Medical Examinations as necessary and make determinations regarding additional treatments or benefit terminations.
- Establish and adjust reserves for medical and non-medical benefits throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Calculate and issue non-medical benefits, including wages and essential services.
- Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable in NJ and other states.
- Utilize all applications effectively while managing time and responsibilities efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Good organizational skills, time management, and data entry capabilities.
- Ability to make decisions and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Understanding of state-specific regulatory requirements.
- 3-5 years of claims handling experience is preferred, especially with out-of-state experience.
