Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Position Overview

This role is for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer tasked with the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of electronic systems specifically engineered for high-temperature applications. The ideal candidate will leverage their troubleshooting skills to devise effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop both analog and digital circuitry for battery-operated memory devices utilized in down-hole logging
  • Conduct thorough testing and qualification of electronic components
  • Diagnose and resolve electronic and mechanical problems
  • Recommend enhancements to existing designs
  • Create detailed schematic diagrams and PCB layouts
  • Construct prototypes for validation and testing
  • Support firmware development for devices
  • Develop desktop applications for testing purposes
  • Generate necessary documentation for production and support
  • Design mechanical elements
  • Manage projects, including cost estimation, material procurement, and timeline planning
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and testing both analog and digital circuits
  • Expertise in working with embedded microcontrollers
  • Proficient in creating schematic diagrams and PCB layouts
  • Prior experience in design, testing, and prototyping
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Skills and Attributes
  • Familiarity with firmware and desktop software development
  • Proficient in using electronic testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and multimeters
  • Mechanical skills for prototype design and assembly
  • Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent communication abilities
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs
Work Environment
  • Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as necessary
