Clinical Audiologist Gaithersburg MD

To assess, diagnose, and treat patients with hearing, balance, and related disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate patients' audiologic function, interpret findings, and review test results with patients or responsible adults.
- Document patients' case history, test results, and recommendations for follow-up in the medical record and report results and recommendations to referring physicians and/or primary care physicians.
- Counsel patients about treatment options for hearing loss and refer patients to ear, nose, and throat departments for consultation when appropriate.
- Educate patients about hearing conservation and vestibular rehabilitation exercises.
- Evaluate patients' vestibular function when referred for dizziness, vertigo, or imbalance.
- Perform and interpret electro physiologic and special tests of the peripheral and central auditory system.
- Evaluate hearing status of infants and young children with an appropriate comprehensive battery of tests.
- Counsel patients regarding hearing aid device options and evaluate patients' hearing aids when appropriate.
- Additional specialized duties include programming and fitting implantable devices, fitting, programming, and troubleshooting hearing aids and assistive listening devices, and advanced vestibular assessment.
- Current employees: Masters degree and a minimum four (4) years of experience in audiology required - OR - an Au.D.
- New hires: Au.D.
- National Provider Identifier, Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, and PECOS Enrollment within 3 months of hire.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in vestibular testing, behavioral pediatric assessment, and Auditory Evoked Potential testing.
