Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to a culture of excellence and compassion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, ensuring safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, and skilled communication to create a safe and supportive patient environment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patient condition, status, and need for care, taking appropriate actions to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve this goal.
  • Actively coordinate discharge plans, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action to improve processes and patient outcomes as needed.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills, promoting collaboration and teamwork among healthcare team members.
  • Promote a culture of safety, identifying and reporting patient safety events and near misses in a timely manner.
  • Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative solutions to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
