Intensive Care Unit Nurse

As a Clinical Nurse in our Critical Care Float Pool, you will have the chance to gain and practice critical care skills in various areas, including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and our intermediate care ICU- the MSICU. With a competitive salary of $33.00 - $33.99 per hour, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment.
About the Role
The Clinical Nurse contributes to creating a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening. This includes recognizing and appreciating each employee's valuable contributions to the success of our Mission.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Qualifications
• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree conferred.
• Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Possess knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, and demonstrate ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
