Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Immunization Compliance department. As an Immunization Nurse, you will play a critical role in disease intervention, epidemiology, and immunization duties for vaccine-preventable diseases and the immunization program in the Midlands Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, plan, and coordinate immunization clinics in schools and community flu clinics.
  • Provide immunization certificate training for regional staff, providers, and school nurses.
  • Provide perinatal Hepatitis B case management and assist the regional epidemiology team with investigations of vaccine-preventable diseases as needed.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct Provider Enrollment Visits; complete all required documents for each visit and submit to the Immunization Division in a timely manner.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct Provider Compliance Visits Vaccines for Children (VFC); and Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP); complete all required documents for each visit and submit to the Immunization Division in a timely manner.
  • Act as superuser for SIMON, the immunization information system, for both internal and external users; may require periodic lifting of up to twenty (20) pounds.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and one (1) year experience in disease intervention, epidemiology, or immunization programs.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing of South Carolina or compact state.
  • CPR certification within the first six (6) weeks and then as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pediatric and or Adult Immunization experience.
