About the Job

ERP International is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the Pulmonary Department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex respiratory procedures within the scope of practice delineated by the MTF.
  • Participate with physicians, nurses, and other staff in planning respiratory treatment.
  • Provide emergency or critical respiratory care.
  • Efficiently administer all types of respiratory care and draw blood as directed by the physician or advanced practice provider.
  • Operate and troubleshoot all types of respiratory equipment, including proper disassembly, cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and notify supervisor of need for maintenance.
  • Be familiar with the functions and modes of equipment and ensure equipment is cleaned, reassembled, and returned to storage.
  • Administer prescribed doses of medical gases and aerosolized drugs intermittently and continuously.
  • Perform airway management and hygiene, including chest percussion postural drainage, and obtain arterial blood gas specimens.
  • Perform patient assessments and monitoring and provide patient instructions, including breathing exercises.
  • Make therapeutic recommendations and examine patient records to identify changes in clinical status.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the last 3 years in a clinical setting for Pulmonary Services.
  • Certification: Possess certification as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
  • Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for all positions. ACLS for Pulmonary Services.
  • Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
Pay Scale

$40.00/hr - $55.00/hr, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
