Position Overview:

Under the guidance of management, the Warehouse Operations Supervisor is tasked with directly managing the activities of team members in the Sorting and Shipping sectors within the Controlled Substances division of a warehouse. This role ensures that the team complies with all organizational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and customer performance indicators as per contractual obligations.

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is accountable for all personnel matters concerning their direct reports and primarily operates within the warehouse production zones. The role may also involve manual tasks such as operating warehouse machinery or managing Hazardous Waste materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team members in a production area of the facility.
  • Validate all employee hours worked and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Adjust team priorities in response to evolving business needs.
  • Assess staffing requirements and engage in the recruitment process.
  • Uphold and enforce all organizational policies and procedures within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Monitor and report on loss prevention efforts within the facility.
  • Provide regular statistics and operational updates on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all SOPs related to facility operations.
  • Supervise incoming and outgoing shipping and processing activities to guarantee order accuracy and shipment condition.
  • Conduct and document periodic regulatory inspections of the facility, including sanitation and hazardous waste storage area assessments.
  • Meet established production and quality targets while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Foster continuous improvement and enforce quality standards.
  • Ensure a clean, professional, secure, and safe working environment.
  • Identify and analyze issues, challenges, and opportunities; demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with strategic partners.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a fulfillment, distribution, or manufacturing setting; or a combination of experience and training that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer applications and reporting tools specific to operations, including MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety and security protocols.
  • Physically capable of working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Competent in operating and troubleshooting departmental equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Knowledgeable in packaging, labeling, and handling Hazardous Materials and Waste, including signing Hazardous Waste manifests and serving as an Emergency Coordinator.
  • Experienced in performing hazardous waste generator functions, including identification, sorting, packaging, and labeling hazardous waste produced from daily operations.
