Medical Authorization Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Authorization Specialist to join our team at Snelling San Antonio. As a key member of our workforce solutions team, you will be responsible for managing the authorization and pre-approval processes for various medical services and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process authorizations for medical services, ensuring compliance with insurance and payer requirements.
- Liaise with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations and resolve any issues related to coverage.
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations, denials, and appeals.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted properly.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to gather required information and ensure efficient authorization processing.
- Manage and appeal denied authorizations as necessary.
Requirements:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues related to denied claims or authorization delays.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies.
