Job Summary:As a skilled Skip Tracer, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations to locate individuals with unpaid ambulance service bills. You will utilize a variety of resources, including public records, databases, social media, and proprietary tools, to gather information and verify contact details. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will be essential in communicating with individuals, guarantors, and third-party entities to negotiate payment plans or settlements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough investigations to locate individuals with unpaid ambulance service bills
• Utilize a variety of resources to gather information and verify contact details
• Communicate effectively with individuals, guarantors, and third-party entities to negotiate payment plans or settlements
• Prepare detailed reports on skip tracing activities and outcomes
• Collaborate with the billing department to prioritize accounts and develop strategies for debt recovery
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements regarding debt collection
• Stay updated with industry best practices and tools for skip tracing
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a skip tracer, debt collector, or in a similar investigative role
• Proficient in using skip tracing tools, databases, and social media platforms
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding debt collection
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education and Experience Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year revenue cycle management experience
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Work may require sitting, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
• Must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and operate a motor vehicle
