Piedmont Eastside Medical Center's Cardiac Care Unit is a 18-bed hybrid unit specializing in the care of cardiac and vascular patients.
- Typical patient population includes patients with chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and pulmonary embolism.
- Our unit provides acute, intermediate, and intensive level of care patients, with a nursing staff consisting of tele and ICU nurses.
Our nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 for non-ICU patients and 1:2 (sometimes 1:3) for ICU patients. ICU nurses may experience a 1:1 patient ratio when handling high-acuity patients on devices such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella.
Our nursing staff works closely with cardiologists and vascular surgeons to provide exceptional patient care.
As a Cardiac Care Unit Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work with a knowledgeable and close-knit group of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
- Graduate of a nursing program
- New graduates of a nursing program eligible
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BLS certification required
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- Bachelor's degree preferred
