Pharmacy Director

UPMC is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Manager to lead the Pharmacy team at Altoona Hospital. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing pharmacy services to support the provision of pharmaceutical care efficiently and effectively.

• Direct the design and implementation of pharmacy services to support the provision of pharmaceutical care efficiently and effectively.
• Integrate the philosophies and techniques of quality improvement to ensure that services are provided in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Assist in the recruitment and hiring of staff, and mentor and provide leadership for the staff.
• Schedule staff to cover hours of operations and on-call schedule, and monitor the budget for areas of responsibility (drug margin and staffing) to ensure cost-effective services.
• Participate in and support various inter and intra-department committees to promote the role of pharmacy in the delivery of optimum patient care.
• Participate in educational and research initiatives in line with the mission of the organization.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy required.
• 4 years of progressive pharmacy experience, including both dispensing and consultant experience.
• Management experience preferred.
