Job Overview
As a Culinary Specialist at Saint Francis Community Services, you will be responsible for creating delicious and nutritionally balanced meals that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, all while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Prepare wholesome meals in adequate quantities to meet the appetites of our clients.
  • Develop menus as per guidelines, making adjustments only after consulting with the nutritionist.
  • Maintain detailed notes in the menu notebook regarding resident preferences and meal consumption.
  • Engage in weekly consultations with the nutritionist to ensure proper food ordering and inventory management.
  • Keep an accurate daily record of freezer contents, ensuring easy access to inventory information.
  • Complete all required cleaning tasks on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Store leftover food properly in coolers and freezers, clearly labeling contents and preparation dates.
  • Adhere to policies regarding food items, ensuring no personal use of leftovers without appropriate permissions.
  • Supervise residents working in kitchen and dining areas, including roles such as table setters and dishwashers.
  • Report any unacceptable behaviors or rule violations to the Program Director.
  • Ensure that meal times are enjoyable and create a positive dining experience for all residents.
  • Be prepared to provide emergency transportation as needed.
  • Document unusual incidents through the appropriate channels for risk management and safety.
  • Implement and adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by SFCS, including relevant accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Uphold the rights of all clients in your care.
