SUMMARY:

Agile Defense is in search of a qualified candidate to fill the role of VDI Systems Administrator.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing system administration support for various applications and managed IT systems within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Your expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) engineering will be crucial in developing and implementing policy requirements to enhance the client's VDI initiatives. You will utilize your knowledge of VMware vSphere and Horizon View for desktop virtualization design, implementation, and administration, alongside managing Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory configurations. Additionally, you will oversee a VMware lab environment to facilitate VDI operations, ensuring compliance with established standards.

DUTIES:
  • Ensure the efficient operation of multi-user computer systems, collaborating with network engineers as necessary.
  • Establish and manage administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, optimize system performance, and manage software installations.
  • Engage with users to assess vendor products and make informed recommendations for hardware and software acquisitions.
  • Coordinate installations and provide backup recovery solutions.
  • Develop and enforce policies and standards for the allocation of computing resources.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide support to remote virtualization environments.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure and desktop systems, including associated peripheral equipment.
  • Deploy and sustain enterprise-level virtual desktop infrastructure environments.
  • Apply necessary patches, updates, and upgrades to servers and workstations.
  • Generate required reports for review by relevant personnel.
  • Deliver enterprise-level support in the execution, testing, documentation, and deployment of virtualization solutions.
Qualifications

Education and Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • IAT Level II (Security+ Certification)
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Relevant Computing Environment (CE) certification such as VCP
Background and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with VMware vSphere and Horizon View administration.
  • At least 2 years of system administration experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server configuration and administration.
  • Experience in server installation, configuration, and maintenance within compliance standards.
  • Skilled in designing and documenting new infrastructure deployments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies.
Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Storage Area Networks, including iSCSI and EMC Storage.
  • Knowledge of ACAS, DoD STIG, and Symantec Altiris.
  • Experience with VMware ThinApp and Liquidware ProfileUnity.
  • Familiarity with Dell or Cisco UCS server management.
  • Experience implementing VMware, UNIX, and Windows STIGs.
  • Proficient in PowerShell and PowerCLI.
  • Experience with EMC VNX or XtremIO Storage Arrays.
  • Knowledge of programming in JSON or REST API for automating VMware installations.
  • Experience with Cisco NXOS Switch and Router configuration.
  • Familiarity with Hyper-Converged Virtualization platforms.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position may require occasional travel and off-hours work to support system releases and outages. The work environment is primarily office-based, with standard office equipment available.
